Private marketplace for dealer groups
Rooftop is a private marketplace for your dealer group. The unit aging at one store is a sale waiting at another. List it, let your sister stores bid, and keep it out of the auction lane.
20 minutes · your stores, your inventory
In a hurry? It's $249 a store. It was the right car when you took it in. It's just on the wrong lot. Your Chevy store doesn't get Camry shoppers. Your Toyota store, three hours away, gets them every day.
The pill on the card turns amber at your group's aged mark, 60 days until you change it. Thirty days later it turns red. Everybody knows. Nobody has a good move.
The same week, your Toyota store buys a Camry at auction and pays a buy fee for it.

Add a store and point Rooftop at its website. Dealer.com, DealerOn and Dealer Inspire sites bring their own inventory in: photos, prices, days in stock and all. No website? Use a feed, a spreadsheet or the API.
Open the unit that isn't moving. Rooftop suggests a starting bid from what an auction would actually pay you, and a Buy Now from what an auction would cost the buyer. Change either. Publish.

How this was worked out
Your auction is live. Other stores can bid now.
Listed today21,300 miSedanFWD
Your whole group sees it the moment it's live. Nobody outside your group ever does.

90 seconds. Captions burned in. Sound optional.
Sister stores see the high bid, never who placed it. $100 increments by default. A bid in the last two minutes adds two more, so nobody gets sniped.
One conversation per vehicle. Both keys? Any paint work? The selling store answers once and every store sees it.
Set a price and any store can take the car on the spot. Either way, the buyer is a store in your group.

The selling store confirms the car is still there. The winning bid stands as the buying store's approval, unless you want a GM or the group office to sign off above a threshold. One tap each.
A real bill of sale: both stores, the vehicle, the price, who approved and when, under your group's own terms. Every signed copy is sealed and can be verified later.

Both stores get the signed copy by email. Pickup, in transit, delivered: everyone follows the same timeline, and the transport cost is recorded on the deal. You still move the car. Rooftop makes sure nobody has to ask where it is.
Delivery confirmed. Transfer complete.

The math
Same Camry, same week, the way it usually goes: your Chevy store sells it at auction, your Toyota store buys one back. Here is that round trip by Rooftop's estimates, set low on purpose.
Auction lane$20,000 to $29,999
Not counted: about 14 days until an auction pays, at $25 a day to hold the car; reruns when it doesn't sell the first time; arbitration. Also not counted: what you pay to move the car between your own stores. You still pay that.
$1,650 the auction's cut
Any price between the two beats the auction for both stores. Rooftop suggests the starting bid and the Buy Now from these two numbers, and shows its working. From a $29,900 advertised price: wholesale estimated at 86% less $1,000 = $24,714.
Example inputs: change them. An estimate, not a promise: it counts the buyer's side of every transfer and the seller's side only for units that were aged when listed, as the app's Reports page does. It is not net of what you pay to move a car between your own stores.Open the full calculator

Security
Anyone who can list, bid, approve or sign uses one. A password alone never moves a car.
Each group's data is kept apart at the database, row by row. Nobody outside your group sees a listing, a bid or a name.
A signed bill of sale is an unchangeable PDF with its signature record. Verify any copy later.
Listings, bids, approvals, signatures and every report download, with who and when.
Vehicles and work accounts only. The terms say not to add retail customers' information.
Not a dealer, broker, auctioneer or escrow holder. Rooftop never touches the money or the title.
AI is off until your group turns it on. If you do, only the search sentence or a spreadsheet's column headings are sent. Never inventory records or documents. How Rooftop is secured
Integrations
Rooftop reads a store's public inventory pages: photos, prices and the day each unit entered stock. It follows robots.txt and never logs in anywhere. Integrations can read and prepare drafts. People publish, bid, approve and sign.
POST /api/v1/listings/drafts Trademarks belong to their owners. Rooftop isn't affiliated with them.
Your move
Setup takes minutes. Your first aged unit can be in front of your sister stores today.
