Your numbers, not ours.

When an aged unit leaves one of your stores through the auction lane and a sister store buys the same kind of car back, the group pays both sets of fees. Here is what that comes to in a month.

Example inputs: change them. An estimate, not a promise: it counts the buyer's side of every transfer and the seller's side only for units that were aged when listed, as the app's Reports page does. It is not net of what you pay to move a car between your own stores.

How this is worked out

An auction pays the seller a vehicle's wholesale value less its sell fee, the transport there and a condition report. It costs the buyer that value plus a buy fee, the transport back and a post-sale inspection. Trade the same car inside the group and neither store pays the auction's share.

  • The buyer's side counts on every transfer: a store that bought a vehicle needed one, and the auction is where it would have gone.
  • The seller's side counts only when the unit was aged when it was listed. A fresh unit would likely have sold at retail, so no auction was avoided.
  • Holding cost (14 days until an auction pays, at $25 a day) is shown beside the estimate and never inside it.
  • A move between your own stores still costs money. The estimate is not net of that, and the app's Reports page shows the two side by side.
How far to trust our figures

Auction houses don't publish fee schedules. Ours rest on thin public evidence and are set low: a sell fee of $250 to $700 and a buy fee of $200 to $600 by price band, $200 of transport each way, a $25 condition report, a $125 post-sale inspection, 14 days until an auction pays, and $25 a day to hold a vehicle. Yours are better. Enter them above, and in the app under Settings, where Reports and suggested prices use them too.

A 2024 Toyota Camry XSE advertised at $29,900, 94 days in stock. Its wholesale value is estimated at 86% of the advertised price less $1,000: $24,714.

Not counted: about 14 days until an auction pays, at $25 a day to hold the car; reruns when it doesn't sell the first time; arbitration. Also not counted: what you pay to move the car between your own stores. You still pay that.
